History of the Regional Climate Change Conference (RCCC)

The 1st Regional Climate Change Conference (RCCC) marked a significant milestone as the inaugural edition of this regional platform and successfully brought together 130+ participants in both physical and virtual formats. Hosted in Colombo, Sri Lanka, the conference welcomed representatives from 26+ countries, including researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and industry professionals. The strong international participation and multidisciplinary dialogue highlighted the conference’s relevance and impact, establishing RCCC as a credible and emerging forum for advancing regional and global collaboration on climate change adaptation and resilience.

Through high-quality technical sessions, policy discussions, and collaborative networking opportunities, RCCC established itself as a dynamic platform for bridging research and practice. The success of the first edition laid a strong foundation for continued cross-regional collaboration, knowledge exchange, and collective action toward building resilient and sustainable communities in the face of climate change.
